DESCRIPTION: PW mvt only - Hamilton, Grade 946 marked "Extra," 23J, 18S, OF model mvt, "A.N. Anderson Extra" marked white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, ornate nickel damascene, s#550856. A rare and desirable variant of this top grade Hamilton Movement. The "A.N. Anderson, Extra" signed dial is correct to this movement and the Hamilton factory ledger shows this particular serial number as having been sold to A.N. Anderson of Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 1st, 1910.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running after a twist to start, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, balance cock foot with a scratch from its screw extending to its edge, surfaces with typical mild fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere, main plate with light ultra-fine scratch striations from past wiping(s), one barrel bridge screw is a smaller sized replacement, visible portion of cannon pinion and center arbor on dial side with rust; dial with scattered hls and fractures, vertical scratch to upper portion of center section that crosses signature near its midpoint, small edge nick near 12; poor hands, hour and minute with significant rust, minute with fractured center hub, seconds-hand with ample oxide.
